Why you will never see these pairs as couples in films...
So much has been said and written about how Kareena Kapoor feels like she is losing out on working with Ranbir Kapoor because he is her cousin, while her contemporaries like Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra have done films with him. The only way these two Kapoors could be in a film together was if they were cast as brother and sister. That opportunity was offered to them by Zoya Akhtar but RK could not do the film, and Bebo walked out. Now Priyanka and Ranveer Singh will be seen as siblings in that film. The only time they came together on screen was in Koffee With Karan. The episode was a riot with Kareena mercilessly teasing Ranbir and spilling the beans on his affair with Kat. We would love to see the duo light up the screen with their cute bhai-behen chemistry.

Another good-looking couple the audience will never see paired opposite each other is Sonam and Arjun Kapoor. These first cousins — she is Anil Kapoor’s daughter and he is Boney Kapoor’s son — share a very close bond. So much so that Sonam had gone all out to promote Arjun’s debut film Ishaqzaade on the eve of its release. She tweeted about the promos and urged people to watch the film. Again during Gunday, she cheered the loudest for her brother. On his part, Arjun confessed to Sonam being possessive about him. “I have to take Sonam’s aashirwad before I settle with any girlfriend or even befriend a girl!” he had said in an interview. How sweet! Sonam and Arjun will be good together as the brother-sister in a film like Josh that had Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai playing siblings!
Katrina Kaif and Arjun Kapoor
No, they are not related by blood, but Katrina ties a rakhi to Arjun making him her munh-bola bhai. It was five years ago when Salman Khan encouraged Arjun to take up acting as a career that Katrina had tied him a rakhi. She considers him as her younger brother. So far, they haven’t been paired together though Kat was said to have been offered Gunday before Priyanka Chopra was roped in. Arjun, on his part, has no qualms working with her. He is reported to have said that he will work with her because whatever equation they share shouldn’t concern anyone else! Any takers?
Emraan Hashmi and Alia Bhatt
He is an incorrigible rake and she is an innocent wide-eyed girl. Together Emraan Hashmi and Alia Bhatt make an unusual pair, but it is unlikely that the two will be paired opposite each other. While Alia is Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter, Emraan is his nephew. There were reports of the duo being cast in the remake of Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi but that idea seems to be nixed. Emraan is said to be part of the film, while the hunt for the girl, who will reprise Pooja Bhatt’s role, is on. One film that we can think of for the two is the light-hearted film The Savages in which the brother-sister duo is forced to keep aside their discomfort and care for their ailing father.
Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleem
This pair of siblings is gradually making its presence felt in the industry. While Huma earned rave reviews with her very first film Gangs Of Wasseypur, Saquib came into the limelight with the youthful Mujhse Fraandship Karoge. Huma is proud of her brother, who she thinks ‘can do any scene effortlessly’. While she is protective about him, the doting brother looks up to her. It will be interesting to see this pair caring and bickering on screen.
