Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan were all set to battle at the BO with their films set to release on January 26 next year. Raees and Kaabil were releasing on the same day and battle lines were drawn. However, due to the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) diktat asking Pakistani artistes to leave India, this could change.
According to Hindustan Times, Shah Rukh Khan along with the makers of his next is planning to change the release date because of Mahira's role in the film. An insider says, "SRK's film is introducing Mahira. After the MNS  asked all Pakistani artists to return to their country in the wake of the Uri terror attacks, the makers are now worried that this development can severely affect the business of the film."
He added, "Because of the MNS order, the makers want to push the release date to avoid double losses. Also, they can't afford to have the movie boycotted at the last moment due to the current tension between India and Pakistan. If this happens, it will be a big win for Hrithik. Both Dilwale and Fan didn't fare well at the box office. So SRK will avoid taking a risk like that."
Ritesh Sidhwani, the producer, Rahul Dholakia, the director and Shah Rukh Khan were unavailable for comments, while the representatives from SRK's production house chose not to comment.
