Being a celebrity and being speculated for your personal life are two sides of the same coin. No matter what you do in the privacy of your home, the minute celebrities are spotted with their friends or respective partners, people want to know about it. Though this has been happening since times immemorial, most actors have made peace with the fact that no matter what their relationship status, speculations are bound to arise. However, recent events have sparked off a trend of sorts where celebrities have not only refused to talk about their personal equations but also staged a walk out from public events. Explaining this behavioural trend, clinical psychologist Seema Hingorrany said, "These kind of instances have happened in the past as well. Actors do not like to answer any kind of personal questions. The increasing levels of stress in terms of competition is one of the reasons. Initially, they were able to manage it but now they find to difficult to keep their cool and do not appreciate any kind of intrusion. Also, technology to a certain extent is one of the prime reasons. They worry that whatever is written about them will go viral on social networking websites or just simply on the internet. This is perhaps why they are extremely guarded about their personal lives."

Preity – Yuvraj
Fed up of reports linking her to cricketer Yuvraj Singh, Preity took to her social networking site to plead with people to stop the speculations. She said, 'Comments like these are sexist and reek of cheapness at my place of work. Please refrain from writing that YUVRAJ & PREITY were in a relationship.' She also recently snapped at a journalist when she was asked about Ness Wadia and their current equation.
Virat – Anushka
The posterboy of cricket recently landed himself in a bit of a soup when he was spotted abusing a journalist at a practise session at the ongoing cricket world cup in Australia. Virat was reportedly fuming and abused the journalist in question with the choicest of expletives for writing about him and girlfriend Anushka Sharma a couple of months ago. However, it was a major misunderstanding as he mistook the journalist to be another one who had actually written about the couple. He later apologised for the same but it did create a controversy.
Alia - Sid
After a series of reports about her alleged link-up story with Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt was at her wits end when she was asked about her apparent equation with the young actor. Alia, who was at a press conference didn't mince her words when a journalist asked her about being spotted with Siddharth. The actress said that she would want to know who the journo was going to go out with after the event.
Ranbir - Katrina
Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have been written about for their alleged love story for a couple of years now. However, the two refuse to even talk, let alone acknowledge their relationship. At a recent event, Ranbir lost his cool when a journalist asked him about Katrina being a part of his family's whatsapp group. The actor completely ignored the question, said thank you and walked out!
