Rakesh Roshan is the man behind the highly successful Krrish franchise, that brought superheros to the forefront in Indian cinema. Incidentally both roles were played by his son Hrithik Roshan.

But given the changing times and that more women centric films are gaining popularity would Rakesh choose a female protagonist?

“If I have a superhero in my film, then I can have a ‘superheroine’. I don’t think I can make a female-based film, as I believe the audience won’t accept that,” he told a publication.

Rakesh also talked about actress Rekha’s recently released biography, and mentioned a memorable incident that occurred between him and Hrishikesh Mukherjee, who directed him in Khoobsurat. “When Hrishida called me for the movie, I asked him whether Rekha, who was the leading lady in the film, would work with a failed actor like me. Hrishida told me not to worry about it. He revealed that Rekhaji had no objection in working with me. I have had, and still have, such a lovely equation with her,” he says. He adds that Rekha still visits him often and brings home-cooked south Indian food.
