Akshay Kumar's latest release has fared exceptionally well at the ticket windows despite getting mixed response from the critics.
After Airlift and Housefull 3, Rustom has become Akshay's third film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in a single year. Moreover, Rustom is also Akshay Kumar's fastest entry to the 100 crore club.
Previously, Airlift made it to the 100 crore club in 10 days and Housefull 3 managed to touch the milestone in 13 days. According to the the figures given by trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Rustom has crossed the 100 crore mark in just 9 days of its release. Taran Adarsh tweeted:
DAYS taken to reach ₹ 100 cr - 2016:#Sultan - 3#Rustom - 9#Airlift - 10#HF3 - 13

HINDI FILMS. Nett biz. India biz.
Taran also informed about the "triumphant run' of Rustom to cross Rs 100 crore mark. He further wrote,
#Rustom crosses ₹ 100 cr... Continues its TRIUMPHANT RUN... [Week 2] Fri 4.41 cr, Sat 5.77 cr. Total: ₹ 101.08 cr. India biz.

The movie, which is inspired by the K.M. Nanavati case, faced strict competition on the day of its release from Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro. However, unlike Hrithik's film, Rustom continued to bank well at the box office even after a week.
