Congress leader Anant Gadgil on Wednesday accused the BJP-led NDA government, of interfering in judicial system and belittling constitutional posts.

Talking to reporters, Gadgil, who is also an MLC, said the government's actions harmed all the pillars of democracy.

He said, a senior counsel, who had fought a case against the Gujarat government, was prevented from becoming SC judge. "Is this BJP's respect for judiciary?" he asked.

"Governors are being forced to resign...while a woman Governor is shunted out from one state to another and suddenly it dawns upon the government that she is corrupt," he alleged.

"During the election, Sena-BJP would raise Pakistan's ceasefire violations and question UPA. But, Shiv Sena did not utter a word over Prime Minister Narendra Modi laying a red carpet to welcome Nawaz Sharif at his swearing in. Pakistan's ambassador holds talks with separatists and our government is caught unawares," the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) spokesman said.

Gadgil said Chinese soldiers came 30 km inside the Indian territory and the Defence Minister was not aware of the development.

"When UPA signed the Indo-US nuclear deal, BJP accused the Congress of selling off the country's interests. Now, Modi visits BARC and says there is no alternative to atomic energy, while Shiv Sena, which is opposing the Jaitapur power project, is silent," he added.

Gadgil also said the BJP did not take action against HRD Minister Smriti Irani for submitting affidavits citing different educational qualifications.

"Home Minister Rajnath Singh is prevented from appointing a secretary of his choice, but an ordinance is promulgated for appointment of a secretary to the Prime Minister," Gadgil said and also hit out at the Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman speaking in different voices on the issue of WTO.

He also wondered if leaders like Sushma Swaraj, Smriti Irani and Hema Malini take a candle march to Arun Jaitley's residence for his reported comment describing the Nirbhaya rape case as a small incident.
