Life after Gangs Of Wasseypur has been a roller-coaster ride for actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui. With his schedule packed and hands full with A-list films, Nawaz is on a high.
Right now he is concentrating on his upcoming film Chittagong, after which he will focus on the Aamir Khan starrer, crime thriller Talaash.
Talking about his new role as a freedom fighter in Chittagong, he says, “This film actually was shot much before Gangs Of Wasseypur. It almost took four years for the film to be released here. It’s about our freedom movement. I play the character of Nirmal Sen, who had fought with Masterda for our freedom.”
He will be seen teaming up with his Gangs.. co-star Manoj Bajpayee once again, “He is a great actor. Working with him you won’t realise that he is a senior actor. I have known him from my theatre days. He is still the same and extremely good at what he does. I love working with him.”
Nawaz will be soon entering the big league with his next flick Talaash, in which he plays the role of a disabled guy. “My character in Talaash is second most important to Aamir’s in the film!” he quips.
We ask him about all the reported allegations of Aamir taking over the reins from Reema Kagti, the film’s director, and he retorts, “I don’t know from where all these rumours and allegations come. Seriously, I know Aamir from Sarfarosh days, in which I played a small cameo. After which he recommended me for Peepli Live, so it’s an amazing feeling to work with him. He treats everyone with utmost respect. Yes, sometimes as actors we do suggest some things to the director but that doesn’t mean we are controlling the film. Reema had complete control over the film and she knew what she wanted from all of us and the film is looking good.”
