Kangana Ranaut recently shot for her upcoming film Queen at Terminal 1 of Delhi airport amidst tight security. But it was not easy to get permission for the shooting.

According to a source, the officials were not forthcoming in giving the permission. The crew was told they could not shoot at the airport because of security reasons. But when it was brought to officials’ notice that two members of the team were National Awardees, things became easier.

Kangana has won the National Award for Fashion and Vikas Bahl, who is directing the film, had bagged it for Chillar Party. Says a source, “When the officials were informed that two National Award winners were part of the film, it became easier to gain permission.” The crew then shot for a day at the airport.

When contacted, Vikas said that he had applied for permission three months in advance. “The authorities follow their own procedures and credibility definitely matters. I am sure the award certificates helped,” he says adding that the one-day shooting went off smoothly as the authorities were extremely co-operative. “They had given us one of the sections of Terminal 1 for a whole day,” he says.

Queen is about Kangana’s character going on a honeymoon all alone! Since she is shown as a Delhi-based girl, major portions of the film have been shot on real locations in the national capital. These include Lajpat Nagar, Janpath, Central Market and Alaknanda. The film has also been shot across Europe, mainly in Paris and Amsterdam.
