Irish singer-songwriter Niall Horan says it would be "ridiculous" to not reform One Direction in the future, emphasising that the band will be back together someday.

The 23-year-old star has revealed that the reports, which are saying the former group, consisted of Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne, has disbanded forever, are "false", reported People magazine.

"We will be back. We would be silly not to... Ridiculous," said Horan. "At the moment, we are all doing our own thing. Everyone is just enjoying just how chilled it is. Harry wanted to do his movie and everyone is just chilling. I don't think anyone needs to worry about us. We are fine," Horan added.

This is not the first time the 'What makes you beautiful' hitmaker has hinted at the One Direction's reunion, he previously stated there would be "plenty more" material from the band.

The "extended hiatus" announced in August 2015 has no definitive end point, but in the meantime each member is keeping busy, with Horan recently releasing his debut solo single, 'This Town.'
