Dia Mirza is finally getting married to the man of her dreams, her an business partner, Sahil Sangha, in October. They were to get married last year but it got postponed because of a medical emergency in the family. The actress whose next production Bobby Jasoos laughs that her next project is her wedding, “It’s the most neglected project! One that for some reason or the other always takes a backseat. But I feel that God’s timing is always perfect.”
Dia reveals that her wedding outfit has been designed by Ritu Kumar. “I fondly call her Ritudi. When I was part of the Ms India international pageant and we were doing sittings I’d asked that whenever I get married if she would design my wedding outfit and she had promised me that she would. She kept her promise and I am so happy that she is doing it because she has been with me through the years and did the clothes for my first production Love Breakups Zindagi too.”
So the wedding outfit has been lying in the wardrobe from last year. “And will lie there till October this year (laughs)… My wedding outfit has been ready for a while now. Wedding will take place in October this year in Delhi as a large part of Sahil’s family and friends are based there. I have a small family and they will fly to Delhi. From Bollywood friends who have been a part of our journey will definitely be there. We haven’t fixed the date as yet but it will be a small, intimate wedding. We don’t want it to become like an awards night and then neither of us will enjoy our wedding. I don’t want anybody to feel left out. I have made many friends in 14 years…”
Her wedding outfit is a traditional Punjabi-style lehenga-choli, with zari work and embroidery in silk. Dia squeals, “I don’t want to reveal too much of the design as the groom and his family are not supposed to know about it! It’s unlucky. All I can say is that it’s very traditional, classic, simple and elegant.."
