My daughter has changed my life: Mohit Suri

Mohit Suri's Hamari Adhuri Kahani is up for release and the new father is a bag of nerves. This is his 10th year in B-Town and while one would imagine Mohit to be used to this by now, he says it's just gotten worse with every passing year. "I am always nervous. It just keeps increasing with every film. When my first film relased I thought it would be less unnerving but that obviously hasn't happened," he laughs.

While he was shooting for the film, his wife Udita Goswami gave birth to their daughter. While Mohit and Udita were ecstatic to have a baby girl, he reveals that the couple never thought of a boy. "It's strange but we never thought of a name for a boy. It was always a girl and we were blessed with a girl. Udita had told me that if we had a daughter, she wanted to name her Devi. I was not very convinced about it because I am not a very relegious person.

Nor do I go to temples so I thought the name was quite old school. However, when we were shooting for the film's climax in Kolkata, it was the Durga Puja sequence. Everyone around was happy and Durga Maa being the Devi was an integral part of the shot. I don't really know what struck me but that is when I decided that we would name our daughter Devi. After the shot, I called Udita and told her about the same. She was more than ecstatic.

Probably what also helped was the fact that I had never been to Kolkata during Durga Puja so the entire experience did something to me," he explains.

So will his daughter be his lucky charm for the film? "Well, when I did Aashiqui I got married so everyone said Udita would be my lady luck. Now, for this film my daughter is the lady luck. No one give sme credit but I am not complaining. As long as every film can outdo the other, I have no problem giving the women in my life credit," he says.
