After Bollywood hits like Gandi Baat (R... Rajkumar)Naach Meri Jaan (Tubelight) and more recently Bhopu Baj Raha Hai (Sanju), Nakash Aziz has ventured into non-film music with Heeriye. The playback singer and composer talks about the number and other projects.

ABOUT HIS DEBUT NON-FILM TRACK

Since I’ve sung a number of Bollywood and regional songs, I wanted my first single to mean something to me and needed to get things right. I believe music is not just about recording sound but has a cinematic process that should be taken seriously. So, instead of just being behind the mic in a studio, I preferred making a music video.

MORE SINGLES TO FOLLOW

I do plan to release more non-film music in the near future. I have come across so many interesting people and stories in my life, which I want to share with the world. Private music is a good way of doing that.

SINGING BHOPU BAJ RAHA HAI...

It was a fabulous and fun experience because Rajkumar Hirani, Ranbir Kapoor and Rohan-Rohan were present at the recording studio when we dubbed the song. The composers had got their basics clear. I believe that’s what everyone should focus on because then you get the emotions right and eventually everything falls into place.

COMPOSING FOR THE SMALL SCREEN

We have composed over 40 songs for Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala and it’s great. The show is on number one on the channel currently, and I’m really glad to be a part of it.

UPCOMING WORKS

I’m busy with many things. But I’m superstitious when it comes to talking about my unreleased projects. I work on them and move on. I let them release when they have to.
