It’s not easy to please a celebrity, especially when that celebrity is a grouchy cat.

However, this is one star no one wants to please but everyone loves. The sardonic-bored kitty with attitude towards almost everything and everyone. And now The Grumpy Cat — the king of the internet meme — is breaking off from the computer screen and heading directly to the Hollywood. The Grumpy Cat’s agent (yes, the cat has an agent!) Ben Lashes has sold a one-picture deal for a Garfield-like feature film to Todd Garner and Sean Robbins of Broken Road Productions.

In the movie, the Grumpy Cat, whose real name is Tardar Sauce, will star and, believe it or not, talk! But according to his agent, the cat “doesnt like movies’’. The grouch’s official YouTube channel has over 120,000 subscribers and over 20 million views. The perpetually disgruntled star has a huge fan following on Facebook too with many communities on its name. This sourpuss gained Internet fame when his photo became popular on websites like reddit.com and Pinterest.

Known for always sporting a scowl, the cat’s photo is usually accompanied by captions that are equally sour. Photos of The Grumpy Cat, whose scowl was caused by feline dwarfism, gained a following with ironic user-generated captions, like “Of all the nine lives I’ve lived, this is the worst”. Owned by Arizona-based Tabatha Budnesen, Grumpy Cat was voted Meme of the Year at the 2013 Webby Awards and was also named the “Queen of Social Media.
