Mohit Malik's next show, a love triangle

Mohit Malik recently quit Surveen Guggal - Topper Of The Year to play the main lead in a new show tentatively titled Silsilay. The serial has him playing an egotist, arrogant guy with shades of grey — a kind of an antagonist. Raahil Azim was slated to play the role earlier but apparently he walked out. When asked about it, Mohit said that though he was aware that Raahil was finalised, he has no idea what happened. “When I was offered the role, what appealed to me was its realistic approach. I would like to clarify that my character is not that of an antagonist. He is not negative or evil, but definitely there are several shades to him. 40 per cent of people around us are like him.

I cannot reveal more as it’s too early,” says Mohit who has already shot for the promos of the serial that will be aired on Zee. A love triangle, the serial is based in Jhansi and will also be shot there. The cast including Siddharth Arora and Neha Marda left for the outdoor shoot yesterday. As for quitting Surveen Guggal, the actor says that the serial is anyway going off air within two weeks and he has finished shooting his part.
