Mohit Chauhan’s partner in rhyme

Mohit Chauhan recently sang Niladri Kumar’s composition Hafiz Hafiz in Imtiaz Ali’s brother Sajid Ali’s directorial Laila Majnu. The singer has been collaborating with Imtiaz for over a decade. 

About what keeps them coming together, he says, “I’ve had a beautiful bonding with him since we first worked together on Tumse Hi in Jab We Met (2007). I’ve sung for a majority of his films — Rockstar (2011), Tamasha (2015), Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017), etc. Most of his movies are about travel and he shoots them in the mountains. So, I find an affinity there. Also, our sensibilities are the same as people, including our sense of humour and creative discussions about music and stories.”
