Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro is possibly one of the most heavy budget films of 2016. Being a period film with lavish sets, the cost of production is definitely on the higher side. The film released last Friday and failed to pick up at the ticket windows.

While it opened at a poor Rs 8.75 crore, the film managed to grow in the next two days but only marginally. The film added another Rs 9.50 crore on Saturday and Rs 12 crore on Sunday. Thanks to Independence Day, Monday too was a holiday and the film netted around Rs 10 crore.

With that, the extended weekend total wrapped up around Rs 40.25 crore which is disastrous for a Hrithik film of this stature. It's impossible for the film to pick up from here onwards and it's mostly going to be a colossal disaster this year. But thank god, it wasn't the Bombay Velvet of 2016!
