Disney released the first teaser trailer for the new animated feature Moana.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson plays Maui, a demigod, who in his time has done a great many things. We see the teaser start with the tales of his adventures. But here is the twist. These animated versions of his heroics are told via tattoos he has inked on every inch of his body!

Maybe that is the reason Moana, played by Auli'i Cravalho, a teenager on a mission to fulfill the ancient quest of her ancestors, and her pig, are kind of skeptical about the person standing in front of them.

Ron Clements and John Musker, who brought us The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Princess and the Frog are bringing us this new adventure set up in the indigenous Pacific Islands. The ocean plays a very significant part in the lives of Pacific Islanders, so naturally it is part of their folklore. This is where the story of Moana blooms from.

For Moana, Clements and Musker let go of their preferred method of hand-drawn animation and adapted to CG-animation.

Maui, the demigod, will guide Moana in her quest to become a master wayfinder. As they sail across the ocean, impossible odds and a few monsters await them along the way. Moana discovers herself too.

The animation movie features songs by Broadway star and creator of Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda in association with Opetaia Foa'i and Mark Mancina. Another Hamilton star Phillipa Soo will also be the part of Moana.

Moana will come to see you in theatres on November 23.
