Back home Manushi Chhillar spoke about her experience at international beauty pageant and what lies ahead.
Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar is back home after bringing back crown for India, 17 years after Priyanka Chopra won the title.
After thanking Lord Ganpati at Siddhivinayak Temple at wee hours in the morning, Miss Chhhilar addressed media at a press conference in Mumbai. And the first obvious question, how was the feeling after being crowned Miss World. She said, "The first few hours was a mixture of emotions. Lot of excitement, lot of anticipation about what is going to happen next. My family was there with me and were so proud. I was so happy it was my dream and I made 1.2 billion people of India happy by fulfilling it."
In her answer to the final question at the international beauty pageant Manushi had already said that Mothers deserve the highest respect and it's not about the salary. She echoed similar sentiments once again and said, "My mother is my guiding angel and my father respects the fact that my mother is my best friend. He calls me his dragon as whatever I face in life I face it with courage."
Glad to be back home, Manushi is overwhelmed by good wishes and blessings from everyone here, she said "I was counting every minute on my flight back to India. It was so overwhelming that even when I landed at midnight, people were there to welcome me. It's a great feeling when you make your country proud."
When asked about what impression do girls at pageant had about India, she joked and said that everyone thought she was a Bollywood actress. But once again she confirmed she has no aspirations to become a part of the movie business. Manushi Chhillar said that she plans to pursue her career in medicine.
Believing in the philosophy that "this isn't only about physical beauty but how you utilise that beauty to do something good" she is all geared up to focus on social causes. She thanked Haryana government for a position at their office and said she wants to contribute to beti padhao beti bachao aandalon.
