Ranveer Singh has been spending long hours in front of the mirror. Most actors do, but he's doing it for work.

The mundan (tonsuring) was just the beginning, the actor has to sit through a three-hour process before facing the camera as Bajirao in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani.

The actor says, "It takes me three hours every morning to get ready along with the prosthetics, the make-up and the costumes. Everything is so elaborate. I have never taken that long to get ready for any movie."

He elaborates, "For Gunday, it used to take me 40 minutes, which was the maximum because of the hair. But otherwise, it takes me 20 minutes to get ready, three hours for me is really something else."

However, the actor isn't complaining. "When you see the look … it's stunning. It has a huge impact when you see me after it's done. And when you place a character that looks like that in that kind of world, you are sold! You are transported to the 1700s."

Apart from the look, the actor has also altered his body language and voice to suit the character he is playing.
And of course his mundan has been spoken about a lot. "I am amazed with what the team has been able to do with the look," says Ranveer.
