After his last adult comedy didn’t fare well at the box-office Milap Zaveri went through a low. He made a comeback with a short dark film titled Raakh. Now he is swearing off adult comedies. Says the writer- director “After Mastizaade, I had no work.
People wanted me to write or direct only comedies though I have written Ek Villain, Kaante and Shootout At Wadala so out of frustration and anger I created Raakh. Now because of Raakh, I have proved I can do another genre. I got my first nomination in an award for the film in the short film category.” He has sworn off sex comedy genre for good, “I have decided that I won’t do an adult comedy ever again. Even if someone offered me a huge amount of money. I have saturated myself with that genre.
I wish whoever makes such a genre the best, but I would personally not do it. The respect that Raakh has given me, I wouldn’t squander. I don’t mind doing clean comedies or romance, but my priority is to make a thriller and I am working that. I am open to writing for films, television and web series but no more adult comedies.”
Meanwhile...
Milap has narrated a story to Nikhil Advani, who has asked him tor work on the script. Milap confirms, “Yes I am writing a thriller for Nikhil. I approached him with a story. He was my producer for my first film Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai and I have shared a great association with him. He said he would back my script and produce it.”
