Former England skipper Michael Vaughan has backed Jonathan Trott to make a Test comeback as the batsman completed his return to the long format of the game by scoring a double century against South Africa 'A' team. Trott remained unbeaten on 211 for England Lions as they drew the Test match against South Africa 'A' in Paarl.

Vaughan said that England would want Trott back in, adding that they would be looking to see if he could fill that role alongside Alastair Cook, Sport24 reported.

The former skipper further said that he wouldn't rule out the selectors looking at Trott to open alongside Cook. Trott withdrew from England's Ashes tour of Australia 14 months ago on account of a stress-related condition.
