Michael Bay is in talks to helm the upcoming Benghazi political drama 13 Hours.

The Paramount project, which is based on the book Thirteen Hours: The Inside Account Of What Really Happened In Benghazi by Mitchell Zuckoff, would tell the true tale of events on September 11, 2012, when terrorists attacked a US State Department Special Mission, Deadline.com reported.

According to a source, Bay had liked the first draft of the script, and though there was no confirmation as of yet, the 49-year-old Transformers helmer was in consideration.

The film, which would be produced by Erwin Stoff through 3 Arts Entertainment's production label, was penned Chuck Hogan, is expected to begin the production by March 2015.
