Do you remember Manoj Kumar’s film Clerk in which a war veteran Ashok Kumar, who is on his death bed gets up and begins to march when his son plays a patriotic song Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja? While that can be dismissed as highly improbable, here’s something that will make you sit up and take notice.

Recently, on the sets of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs, Himesh Reshammiya, who is one of the judges on the show, experienced the “touch of God”.

During the studio audition rounds, a five-year old Delhi boy Jayash Kumar sang Channa Mereya (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil) and his singing was so soulful that Himesh went up to the stage and touched his feet in appreciation. “We were told that his heart is on the right side and I was shocked because it is unusual. He sang the song brilliantly — there was a divine energy in him. Yes, I touched his feet but that was done in jest. And, he also innocently placed his hand on my head and blessed me,” says the composer.

That day Himesh was a bit disturbed because his father Vipin  has a knee ailment, and was told to undergo a surgery, but the musician wanted to avoid it. “My father is old, so I was putting it off. But the doctors told me that without the surgery, he won’t be able to walk. That was running through my mind the entire day and I was praying for a solution. When Jayas blessed me, he said, ‘Aapka kalyan hoga’. And, miraculously my father started recovering. The doctors have told him he doesn’t need a surgery anymore and in the last 20-25 days he has started walking fine. You can call it a coincidence, but I believe there is some divine connection and it has to do with the innocent boy.”

While one is happy for Reshammiya Sr, hope the little boy is not turned into a miracle child and bombarded with more wishes. No doubt, bachche bhagwan ka roop hote hain, but Jayash is only five and has a bright future ahead. After all, his heart is in the ‘right’ place.
