'Mean Girls' musical is ready for stage debut in fall of 2017

Mean Girls musical, the stage adaptation of the 2004 teen comedy movie starring Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert and Rachel McAdams has got a premiere date.

The musical is scheduled to debut on October 3 at the National Theatre in Washington DC, reported AceShowbiz.

The original film, directed by Mark Waters and written by Tina Fey, revolves around a teenage girl who struggles to navigate high school in the States after 15 years with her family in Africa.

The musical is adapted by Fey with her composer husband Jeff Richmond and lyricist Nell Benjamin. Tony winner Casey Nicholaw is attached to direct the project. The original producer Lorne Michaels will be involved in the musical as well. No cast members are announced.
