Mamta Kulkarni who was reportedly detained in Kenya with husband and international drug kingpin Vicky Goswami has not been arrested yet, claims her lawyer. The duo were picked up in a raid in Nyali, Mombasa at the residence of Baktash and Ibrahim Abdalla.

Hamissi Massa, the local head of the unit investigating Vicky Goswami's case also declared that a special probe has been undertaken and that the suspects are liable to charges of conspiracy to illicitly traffic drugs to US and Kenya. He also mentioned that if the suspects are found to be guilty, they would attract severe penalties.

While her husband Vicky Goswami has been arrested on charges of illegal drug trade, Mamta was caught in the drug raid but has not been arrested. No drug was found in the raid but Vicky and the other three people involved have been arrested in context to a previous raid and will be under arrest for the next two weeks.

The police has not been able to gain solid evidence to prove Mamta's involvement in the trafficking issue as their accomplice. Hence, Mamta has been asked to stay put at her home in Kenya and will have to make repeated visits to the police station when summoned.
