Malayalam superstar Mohanlal to make his directorial debut after ruling for 40 years as an actor

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal took to his blog and announced that he will be making his directorial debut with a 3D film titled 'Barroz', in which he play the titular role.

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has been ruling the film industry in Kerala since 1980. He made his debut as a negative role in Fazil's directorial Manjil Virinja Pookkal and since then there was no turning back for him. In these four decades, Mohanlal has entertained fans in every possible genre from the action, romance to drama and comedy. The Complete Actor, as he is fondly called, has been bestowed with The National Film Awards five times and he has won The Kerala State Film Awards nine times.

Now, after being a successful actor and producer, Mohanlal is all set to don the director's hat. Yes, he will be making his directorial debut after 40 years of being in the industry. The superstar took to his blog and made the announcement. He wrote a note in the Malayalam language, which roughly translated in English read as "I will now work from behind the camera. The name of the movie I am making is 'Barroz'. It's a 3D movie that adults and children can enjoy. It is a story based in Portugal."

Mohanlal also wrote, "I had never dreamt of becoming an actor, had never asked anyone for an opportunity in a movie, but still have been working as an actor for 40 years. I am known as an actor and receive awards as an actor. It always amazes me."

Talking about Barroz, Mohanlal revealed that it's about a man, who took care of Vasco Da Gama's treasure when he invaded India. The actor will also play the leading character in the film.
