After 85 days in the lock up and 4 failed attempts at getting a bail, Malyalam actor Dileep has been granted bail by Kerala High Court. The court has asked him to pay of bond of Rs 1 lakh, surrender his passport and asked two people to sign his bail bond. While the investigating team will submit its chargesheet in a few days, police has no time restrictions now since Dileep is out on bail.

Angamaly Magistrate court extended Dileep's custody on September 28th hearing, rejecting his bail plea The actor had been lodged in the Aluva sub-jail since July 10. He is accused of hatching a plot to abduct and assault a Malayalam actress in a moving car through 'prime accused' Pulsar Suni and his associates. The Kerala High Court till now had denied bail on the grounds that the actor could possibly influence the witnesses in the case. On July 11, Dileep was expelled from the primary membership of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) after being arrested. Earlier, the two main accused - Sunil Kumar and Vigeesh, in the abduction and assault of the Malayalam actress, were brought to Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu for evidence collection.

Not just the actor is finally out in jail, his film 'Ramaleela' which got released last Friday also did well in it's opening weekend. The film which was getting postponed several times due to actor's arrest finally got released and proved his involvement in abduction and assault of an actress hasn't affected his fan following.  Cinegoers thronged theatres to ensure the much-awaited multi-crore film had a grand weekend.
