While OTT platforms are becoming more and more popular amidst the Telugu audiences for featuring the latest films within a short span after they hit the theatres, what’s getting them all the more excited now is the release of old hits as well. The latest being superstar Mahesh Babu’s acclaimed film Khaleja that never quite hit the bullseye at the box office upon release but is considered a hit on TV, registering high TRPs everytime it is telecast.

Now, the TrivikramSrinivas-directorial venture that had Anushka Shetty in the lead role alongside Sunil and Ali in key supporting characters, has been released on Amazon Prime Video rentals. It first came to light when a Twitter user wrote to Amazon Prime – “When in India? @PrimeVideo (sic).” Along with the tweet, the user also shared an image which has become the main source of irritation for Mahesh Babu fans.

For the record, Amazon Prime responded confirming that the film wasn’t on their platform yet. The user was referring to the film being available on the rental space of Prime.

The request got many confused into assuming that it can be streamed on the site with the monthly/annual subscription. Like this user posted:

Meanwhile, a small goof up in relation to the Mahesh Babu starrer film’s premise on the part of the online streaming site that came to light with this particular tweet has left the actor’s fans agitated and they have been bombarding the online streaming site with many such messages.

The film’s premise on the site reads: “Khaleja (also known as Mahesh Khaleja) is a 2010 Indian Telugu-language fantasy action film starring Mahesh Babu and Anushka Shetty and directed by Trivikram Srinivas.Suryamurthy (Napoleon) and Thillai (Geetha) are siblings. They were expelled from their home by their stepmother Chinnamma (Theni Kunjarammal) at a young age. The siblings worked hard to come up in life. (sic)”

While the first line is right about the film, the second line is the bio of 1998 Tamil film Kizhakkum Merkkum. It looks like the team had an embarrassing goof up which was caused by a simple copy paste  error!
