Tamil Nadu fans woke up to the shocking news of Baahubali 2 shows being cancelled all across the city. Yes, the SS Rajamouli bonanaza which hit screens today, has been cancelled all across the State.
There is incredible amount of madness and mayhem over this in Chennai where fans have queued up in large numbers to watch the period saga. But it seems that the fans in TN might have to wait a little longer till they actually find out why Katappa killed Baahubali.
According to an India Today report, "The morning shows of Baahubali 2 were cancelled in Chennai due as the financial settlement between K Productions (distributors of Baahubali 2 in Tamil) and producers is yet to be settled."
Apparently, the producers haven't given clearance to the distributors to screen the film before 11 am this morning. Which is why there are no shows in the morning in Chennai. That being a huge market for a film like Baahubali, the film will lose out on a huge chunk of money on its opening day.
A fan told the portal, "I am here outside Rohini theatre from 3am and it was so irresponsible of the theatre owners to sell tickets if the show rights were not there. There was a lathi charge and two people were taken into custody." Post that, there was lathi charge and chaos in the areas near the main theatres.
Many who booked the tickets online for the 8 am show are yet to get a refund. Fans claim they weren't even informed about the development. For people who got tickets for the shows before 11 am, their woes aren't going to end soon. Tickets in Tamil Nadu have been sold out all over, for the next one week. So for the ones who were unucky and whose shows got cancelled, they might have to wait till May 4 to watch the film.
