'Dhak-dhak girl' Madhuri Dixit was seen promoting her upcoming women-centric film 'Gulaab Gang', directed by Soumik Sen, in Mumbai.

During the news conference, Dixit said that her film focuses on empowerment of women and how they can define their own 'self' in the society.

"My film 'Gulaab Gang' talks about women empowerment. It is an empowerment in a lot of ways. First of all, education is very necessary for all women. You see in society a lot of times, the socio-economic background becomes a barrier to many girls and they cannot afford education and they prefer the boys to be educated," the actress said.

"This film tries to say that the girls need to be educated because she needs to give the resource so that she can stand on her own feet, be independent and in that she respects her self to begin with and later the society respects her," Dixit added.

The film will see Dixit and Juhi Chawla working together for the first time and will hit screens across India on 7 March, a day prior to the International Women's Day.
