Shruti Haasan and Kamal Haasan were spotted in a queue in Chennai while they were casting their vote for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections
It is a big day for Tamil Nadu today. Elections are being held in the state and many celebrities like Vijay Thalapathy and others have cast their vote. Shruti Haasan was also among the Tamil Nadu citizens to cast her vote. She in fact went with her father Kamal Hasaan.
It was a special day for the father-daughter since Kamal Haasan's new party Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) was making its debut in the elections. Shruti Haasan arrived with Kamal Haasan as his strongest supporter. They even stood in the queue for their vote.
Kamal Haasan wore a white shirt with the logo of his political party. Sharing the image of her with politician-father Kamal Haasan, proud Shruti Haasan wrote, "VOTING DAY!!! Proud of you my dear father @ikamalhaasan I’m on my way to vote, are you ? #bigday"
She also shared a photo after casting her vote. Sharing a close-up photo of her finger with the black ink (which one receives after casting a vote) around her eyes and nose, Shruti Haasan wrote, "Vote for the change you want to see ! #everyvotecounts"
News agency ANI also shared a photo of the father-daughter qued up to cast their vote. "Tamil Nadu: Makkal Needhi Maiam chief Kamal Haasan and his daughter Shruti Haasan queue up outside polling station 27 at Alwarpet Corporation School in Chennai to cast their votes. #LokSabhaElections2019," they tweeted.
They were standing outside a polling booth in Chennai at 8 am today. Rajinikanth also greeted people after casting his vote in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile Shruti Haasan had previously tweeted, "Go daddy!! Proud of you @ikamalhaasan you have my vote always."
