The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has refused to certify 'Lipstick Under My Burkha', for its reported sexual scenes, abusive words and audio pornography. The movie's trailer had garnered praises from film fraternity for depicting the secrets of small-town women.

The CBFC refusing to certify Prakash Jha's upcoming film 'Lipstick Under My Burkha, has started a string of angry responses from all around. While this act has left members of the film industry angry who have now come out and slammed the CBFC for their verdict, producer Prakash Jha who's backed the film has broken his silence on the issue.

He told ANI, "Audience is mature enough to understand what is good or bad." He further stated that the censor board needs a little remodelling in its structure. "Censoring ko hata kar ke certification ki zarurat hai, kainchi chalane ki taqat nahi honi chahiye (we should have certification instead of censoring. No one should have the power to chop anything from a film)"

About his next step, he informed the agency, "It is not due to one person or CBFC. It is about the right to take decision - the mentality and understanding. Yes of course I will appeal in the tribunal like I have done before, that is the only option."
