The Central Board Of Film Certification (the CBFC aka the Censor Board) is anticipating trouble ahead over the number of smooches shared by Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor in Aditya Chopra’s Befikre.

Not only has the couple been spotted kissing away in all the promotional clippings, there’s an entire song devoted to the art of kissing called Labon Ka Karobar, where couples of both genders and of all ages are seen locking lips throughout.

The Board, says sources, is apprehensive about how so many kisses could possibly be given a go-ahead when earlier there were objections to two lingering liplocks between Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in Tamasha and when producers of Daniel Craig-starrer Spectre were asked to cut scenes out, when some smooches went on for too long.

Pahlaj Nihalani, the Censor Board chief, says they will wait it out and see how it goes. He says, “The song Labon Ka Karobar has not come to us. It is out on the internet and therefore falls outside our purview. As for the kisses in Befikre, they  have to be seen within the film’s context. As far as I know, Befikre is set in Paris, the city of love where public affection is normal. However as I said, we will look at the film and its content when it comes to us.”
