Lara Dutta to be the face of a new channel?

Sources say that Lara Dutta is being approached to be the brand ambassador of an upcoming channel Sony Pal. The general entertainment channel is being floated by Multi Screen Media (MSM) which owns Sony and SAB among others. The new channel that will start beaming in a couple of months is said to be women-centric, and will have a mix of traditional and modern shows. Says the source, "Lara, an ex Miss Universe has been a successful actress and was one of the first women to turn producer with the film Chalo Dilli. She is a perfect blend of modern and traditional and will be apt as the face of the channel." In the past Madhuri Dixit has been the face of Life Ok when it was newly-launched. She was roped in as the channel's sutradhar guiding viewers about the different programmes on the channel and its philosophy. She was also the face of a food channel Food Food.

As for Sony Pal, the channel has already commissioned several shows that are in various stages of production. Producers like Rajan Shahi and Rashmi Sharma are readying shows with actors like Adaa Khan, Kinshuk Mahajan and Anuj Sachdeva. Sayantani Ghosh will also be seen playing the lead in a period drama Singhasan Battisi on the life of King Vikramaditya.
