Reality TV star Kylie Jenner considers herself a feminist.

The 18-year-old star has been in the public eye since she was a tot, thanks to her family's reality television show Keeping Up With the Kardashians (KUWTK), reported Contactmusic.

Jenner insisted that it's her ability to find success on her own that makes her a feminist and a role model for other young women.

Asked if she considers herself a feminist, Jenner said, "I mean, of course I do, but I don't think I stand up in public that way a lot. Not that I don't feel things in my personal life, but yes: I do consider myself a feminist. I'm a young woman, for one thing, and I don't depend on a man or anybody else. I make my own money and start my own businesses, and I feel like I'm an inspiration for a lot of young girls who want to stand on their own."

Despite many people thinking she lives off her famous family, Jenner added that she has survived off her own earnings for the past five years. She also dismissed claims she's frivolous with her money, insisting she has always been very careful about what she splashes out on.

"I haven't had a dollar of my mum's (Kris Jenner) money for five years," she said. "Ever since I started earning my own money, I've paid for everything: all my cars, houses, clothes, everything."
