Now, Krishna’s latest film 'Charlie' is ready for release. It has Milana Nagaraj and Vaishali Deepak as female leads.
Many Kannada cine buffs are not aware of the real name of artiste Krishna. His original name is Sunil Nagappa who became popular for his performance in a tele serial Krishna Rukmini in which he played Krishna's character. Though he made debut in Kannada with the film Hudugaru, Madarangi made him a full-fledged hero. With the success of Madarangi in 2013, Krishna became popular in Sandalwood and producers began evincing interest to have Krishna in their films. Krishna played the lead roles in films Nam Duniya Nam Style, Jolly Baru Maththu Poli Geleyaru, Rudratandava, Mumbai and Charlie.
Now, Krishna’s latest film Charlie is ready for release. It has Milana Nagaraj and Vaishali Deepak as female leads. Krishna, an MBA graduate, hails from Sakleshpur, is confident of Charlie becoming a huge hit at the box-office because of his hard work and all out efforts during the shooting. “I participated in a stunt sequence and got injured. I was confined to bed for three months. I was worried about completing this film, but with God’s grace, I managed to come back for the shoot,’’ recalls Krishna.
The poster of Charlie mentions Krishna as 'Darling Krishna'. When asked about the tag of 'Darling', he said: “My fans wanted to give me the title Darling Star but I told them that Darling would be sufficient and the word Star doesn’t require since I have to go a long way to become a star in Kannada film industry,’’ he says.
It may be recalled that Krishna’s dancing skills in a song sequence 'Darling Darling' in film Madarangi were appreciated by not only his fans but also critics. Is there any guarantee of Krishna’s fans not presenting him one more title after watching his performance in Charlie? “I don’t want any titles. I want to remain the darling of my fans,’’ he says.
