Kolhan university Controller of Examination assaulted by miscreants

The Controller of Examination of Kolhan University, Ganga Prasad Singh was assaulted by some miscreants at his official chamber on Saturday. Miscreants entered into the chamber of Controller of Examination and assaulted him after they blackened his face and greeted with garland of shoes.

Confirming the incident, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Dr RPP Singh told PTI that the incident was "pre-planned" and executed by outsiders. The Vice-Chancellor said the persons responsible for it did not make their grievances if any, public and indulged in such unfortunate incident without any valid reason.

It was simply a handiwork of outside force with support of some inmates of a nearby hostel over which the university authority did not have any control, he said. The Vice-Chancellor said the Controller of Examination was rescued by the police, who arrived on the spot immediately on being informed.

We are in discussion with the senior police officers to initiate action against the culprits, he said adding that the process of registering a FIR was underway. Meanwhile, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) strongly condemned the incident and demanded for a thorough enquiry into the incident and punishment for the culprits involved in it.

We strongly condemned the assault on the Controller of Examination and demand for a probe by a competent authority to identify the culprits involved, said Amitabh Senapati, a member of National Executive Council of ABVP.

Senapati, who is also a Syndicate member of the Kolhan University, alleged some vested interest were bent upon to vitiate the academic atmosphere of the university by indulging in such act.
