First things first, Why does Arjun Kapoor show up on every episode of Koffee With Karan? Is he, like Kareena Kapoor Khan (KKK) said on Sunday, the lucky mascot? Or is he brought on to counter the inanity that rapidly creeps into the conversation, as it did on Saturday when a very pregnant KKK and a very un-pregnant Sonam Kapoor (SK), hardly the best of friends, got together to discuss….
I am not sure of what the two ladies were there to discuss. KKK spoke about everything under the sun including how “sexy” Saif was and how stimulating he was both physically and intellectually. Wish we could say the same about the conversation with the two ladies which meandered in search of some reason to be relevant.
Karan giggled with the two lovely ladies as he must be doing at his home when the two Kapoor cousins or one of them visited. He even offered to be a third Kapoor sister with them. An offer that didn’t seem to enthuse the two ladies much.
Some of the visuals that Karan created in his rapid fire of Kareena being locked in a lift with her “present” Saif and her “past” Shahid could have got awkward. But Kareena rose to the occasion and said she would do a Rangoon with the two leading men and co-stars in the lift then and there.
“I am a legend,” Kareena declared at one point. Karan and Sonam didn’t disagree. No one disagrees with KKK.
Interestingly both Kareena and Priyanka had very good things to say about Priyanka Chopra. This was a change, and a refreshing change. Cautiously treading the land mines that Karan Johar sets up for his guests, KKK and SK said nothing controversial on the show,nothing that they would regret later.This made them sound somewhat boring. But better boring than sorry.
