Actress Neetu Chandra is currently in Cyprus shooting for her international project, directed by Greek director Kyriakos Tofaridis. The actor, who will be there for a month-and- a-half says she is already missing Mumbai. “I miss my country. I miss my city. Everybody here looks Indian but your home is where your heart is. It is a new world for me but I am looking forward to it. Cyprus is beautiful and all the men are so good looking, right from my driver to the spotboy, everyone is just so fit. It has been a great experience so far,” gushes Neetu as she talks about Cyprus. The actor, who bagged her first international project on the recommendation of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap says she never had any plans of doing a Hollywood film or an international project for that matter. “I guess when you don’t plan something, it just happens. I am thankful to Anurag for having suggested my name and giving me this wonderful opportunity,” says Neetu.
Not too long ago, the actor faced a controversy when she did a steamy photo shoot with a female co-star for a film. But she has put that episode far behind her. In fact, she now jokingly says, “You know, I was called a lesbian for wearing a bikini. But there are people in the West winning an Oscar for their lesbian portrayals. I think kissing and love making scenes are over-rated in Bollywood.” Increasingly with actors inserting clauses like ‘no kissing’ and ‘no exposing’ in the contracts, would Neetu ever consider doing that like her female counterparts? “All this talk about clauses is bullshit. You can’t wear a lehenga and get into a swimming pool. As far as kissing is concerned, if two people who are in love can do it off screen, why not on screen? All these actors who insert such clauses should just get married,” she states emphatically.
While she is quite bindaas when it comes to sporting a bikini in films, she is extremely guarded about her personal life, especially rumoured actor boyfriend, Randeep Hooda. Neetu, however, applauds the actor for his performance in the recent release. “I have seen Jannat 2 and Randeep has done a fine job. He is a responsible actor and I am sure he will do great for himself.” And what about love? “What about it? I never talk about my personal life but all I can say is that to love a person, you have to understand the person. Just love is not going to take you anywhere”, she trails off.
