As soon as the Kerala State Film Awards were announced on Tuesday, congratulations poured in for the winners. But there was also disappointment for many of those who were rooting for the film Premam. Dulquer Salmaan walked away with Best Actor for Charlie which won many other awards too. Ennu Ninte Moideen also bagged many awards, including Best Actress for Parvathy who won Best Actress for both films.
However, Nivin Pauly's Premam did not win a single award. People on social media expressed their disappointment. Preman was one of the biggest hits of 2015 for Malayalam cinema. It was appreciated not just in Kerala but across India and abroad as well. The movie collected more than Rs 60 core in 100 days which is a record. It had the second highest revenue after Drishyam, which grossed Rs 75 crore.
The movie ran in Chennai for more than 250 days. Many fans of the film said on social media they were sad that the movie got snubbed.
I guess the jury members of #KeralaFilmStateAwards missed to watch #Premam. #Malare was the best song of 2015.
