Katy Perry credits Freddie Mercury for making her 'a confident woman'

Katy Perry has confessed that Freddie Mercury and his legendary band ‘Queen’ has been a great musical influence as it helped her forge a love for rock music

The ‘Roar’ hitmaker said that she grew up in a religious household and was only allowed to listen to gospel, as her parents disapproved of popular music, the Mirror reported

Perry told Cosmopolitan that Queen’s track ‘Killer Queen’ made her discover music and helped her come into her own when she was 15

The 28-year-old singer insisted that the way Mercury made her feel like a confident woman, by the way he delivered his lyrics.
