Katrina Kaif talks about her character and the delay in release of 'Jagga Jasoos'

Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif starrer Jagga Jasoos has been in the pipeline for around two years now. After several delays, shoots and re-shoots, it was decided that the film would release on June 3 this year. But now, the film has been postponed once again

A little later
Kat reveals, “Jagga Jasoos won’t release in June. It will release around July-end or August. That’s what the producers have told me.” Why this further delay? “We have about 60-70 more days on Jagga Jasoos. There’s a little bit left for the film to be completed.”

It’s cool
Despite all the delays, Katrina is unwavering in her support for the film. “With Anurag Basu, you never know what he’s going to pull out of his hat. Everyone has got so much respect for him. For that kind of art, you got to give it time. You cannot rush art sometimes and that’s our process on that film,” she explains.

Series? Not sure!
While Ranbir had told us that the idea was to make Jagga Jasoos a trilogy, Katrina reveals that it’s not a definite plan yet. “Dada has discussed many things on the set, but right now, the focus is only on this one. And that I can say this on behalf of all of us. So, if it eventually becomes a series, we will see. I would love to be a part of it, too.”

A journalist
Till now, nothing was known about Katrina’s character in the film. Ask her about how she fits in the film and she confirms, “If you see the first look, it’s very geeky and quirky. And you will be happy to know that I am playing a journalist in the film.”
