Actress Katrina Kaif finds former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and ace tennis player Serena Williams inspirational for the work they have done in their respective careers. "I find Indira Gandhi, Serena Williams inspirational because they left a mark in the fields that have been primarily dominated by men," Katrina told reporters at a function on Monday.

In her acting career, the Dhoom 3 actress has tasted both success and failure. She is often regarded as one of the most hardworking actresses. "As women we can go through moments of insecurities, uncertainties, of not knowing what our place is or what we want to do in our lives. However we are, and whatever we are, that is enough," she said.

According to the Rajneeti actress, one should always be helpful towards others. "We should believe in ourselves and never forget to try and help others. Helping others is usually the last thing on everyone's mind, but one should help those who are in need," she said.

Katrina also spoke about the importance of imparting education to create gender equality. "Education will change gender bias. It is the way forward. It will change people's mindsets. I think the biggest change we can bring is through education. Knowledge is where we get our power from," she said.

Katrina was speaking at the L'Oreal Paris 'Women of Worth' award function. Two other L'Oreal ambassadors Sonam Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were also present at the event to give away the awards.

Eight women from different fields were felicitated at the glittering ceremony. Suparna Gupta was given the Social Impact honour, the Science And Innovation the award went to Lalita Prasida Sripada Srisai. In the area of education, Safeena Husain was awarded, Pwilao Basumatary got award for her contribution towards sports, Ajaita Shah for environment, Neha Kirpal for Arts, Sreemoyi Piu Kundu for Literary contribution and Vani Kola for Business and Entrepreneurship.
