Karva Chauth 2016: Here's why Twinkle Khanna isn't fasting for Akshay Kumar this year!

Known as Mrs. Funnybones, Twinkle Khanna's witty remarks on everything are the ones to watch out for. She shuts down haters in the best way ever and puts forth her opinions in quick-witted manner as well. 

So, on Karva Chauth today, Twinkle voiced her opinion on fasting and tweeted in the morning, "These days by 40 u could be on the way to your 2nd marriage so what's the point of fasting-don't need the men to last that long anymore:)"

Apparently this didn't go down well with some of her followers. One of them even went to the extent of replying, "what if it works out n he died coz u didn't fast ....optimism n positive thinking missing" and Mrs. Funnybones doing what she does best, shut him down with an apt reply writing, "That is a possibility-so I checked longevity records-100 countries where men without anyone fasting for them live longer than Indian men:)"

Now, many among the common masses may get the impression that Twinkle is making fun of or mocking the tradition of Karva Chauth by her tweets and that she doesn't believe in it, but very few are aware of the fact that she herself observes the fast every year. Not only Twinkle, joining her in the fasting tradition is hubby Akshay Kumar, who also fasts with her every year.

One may wonder why Twinkle didn't observe the fast this year. Well, this year Akshay is out of town shooting for his special appearance in the sequel to Baby titled Naam Shabana starring Taapsee Pannu and hence she didn't keep the fast this year.
