Kartik-Nushrat on a mission!

The two actors will help create awareness about voting rights among youngsters.

To make people, especially the youngsters aware of their voting rights,  the Election Commission of India and various other NGOs, and civil society organisations have come together to launch a ‘National Voters Awareness Week’. A one-week campaign, it will be launched today in Delhi in the presence of the Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha, Karia Munda. And adding a Bollywood touch to the event will be the lead jodi of Luv Ranjan’s Akaash Vani, Kartik Tiwari and Nushrat Bharucha. The duo who had shot to fame with their film Pyaar Ka Punchnama will be attending the launch ceremony to help increase awareness and encourage enthusiasm among the youth.

According to sources, the two will distribute voter’s cards to the first-time voters and also help make the youth aware of their voting rights. “Young voters who have attained the age of 18 on January 1, 2012 or who were going to attain the age on January 1, 2013 were pre-registered to take part in National Voters Awareness Week launching ceremony. Buzz is that there will be a participation of almost 600 new voters who will cast their vote for the first time in the coming elections,” they say. Both Kartik and Nushrat are said to be very excited about being a part of such an important social campaign.
