After she changed her name to Kareena Kapoor Khan, none of her films have worked at the box-office. Experts say it is because she changed her name and took on Saif’s last name.
Numerologists recommend that the actress revert to her original name to win back the luck with the box-office.
However, Kareena says she won’t do that, “I don’t believe in numerology. People can say what they want but I will never go back to being Kareena Kapoor. I love being known as Saif’s wife and called Mrs Khan. If people feel that Satyagraha and Gori Tere Pyar Mein flopped because of the change in my surname, that’s their problem! Box-office successes don’t depend on superstitions. What matters is the content, and who directs the film. Numerology etc are superstitious beliefs and the less we rely on them, the better we are,” she says.
But she had changed the spelling of her name to Kareina a few years ago on advice of a numerologist. She retorts, “But then I reverted to my original spelling. Didn’t I? Because I believe that it didn’t serve any purpose.”
Today, Kareena is confident that all her films in 2014-15, which include hubby Saif’s home production Happy Ending (cameo), Gabbar (special appearance), Singham 2, Shuddhi and Badtameez Dil, with the name in the credits as KKK will work for her.
