At a time when rape has been one of the major concerns in the country, a recent incident has taken the nation by a storm. On Friday night, a 27 year old woman was raped by a Uber cab driver in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.
The incident which has raised a question on women's safety has left people concerned. Notable Bollywood filmmaker too expressed his concern over the same issue. He took to Twitter to voice his opinion on the same.
Appalled at the @Uber incident!! If they didn't do an adequate background check of the driver they have no reason to operate anywhere!!!!

While most have been blaming the organisation for not having organised a thorough background check of its drivers, the company has come out with a statement. Calling Safety Uber's highest priority, the company condemned such an act and has vowed to provide assistance to the police in the investigations.
