Kapil Sharma has, in no time, catapulted to become the biggest name on TV today. The stand up comedian known for his supremely successful shows Comedy Nights with Kapil and The Kapil Sharma Show also kick started his Bollywood career in 2015 with a box office hit like Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon.

While his fans are waiting for another Hindi film from him, the actor is not keen on starting any right now. He has been flooded with several offers - most of them comedies and he's in love with a few scripts too.

But Kapil won't start a film anytime soon. And you won't believe why! Says a source close to the comedian, "Kapil has at least 12 scripts in hand, which he has liked and he's almost in final talks for two of them. He has also signed one of the films which was supposed to go on floors soon. But that has not happened."

Why? Our sources reveal, "Kapil has been signed on by Sony for another year. His contract has been extended till 31st December, 2017 and he has charged a whopping Rs 110 crore for the same. The makers agreed to pay him that much only on one condition. That he will exclusively remain a SONY talent for that much time and he won't start shooting for anything till they allow him to do so."

We guess it's a win-win for both the channel and the comedian because even if he did a film or two, Rs 110 crore is not what he could have earned. And now, we know the secret behind him paying Rs 15 crore tax and being on the list of the richest Indian stars. Good going, Kapil!
