Kannada actress Maria Susairaj arrested by Gujarat police for alleged fraud

Kannada actress and model Maria Susairaj has been arrested for alleged fraud by the Gujarat police. A report in The Hindu states she cheated Hajj pilgrims of Rs 2.68 crore through her travel agency. 

The report adds that she had a travel agency in Vadodara which had booked tickets for many Hajj pilgrims. Apparently, the tickets were all cancelled after the booking and she allegedly took away the Rs 2.68 crore that had been collected.

Maria Susairaj was earlier involved in TV producer Neeraj Grover’s murder case in 2008. She was sent to three years in jail for not murder but for destroying evidence.
