Unlike most heroines who go into silent mode at the mention of the word age, an excited Kangana Ranaut can’t stop flaunting hers as she turns 25 tomorrow. “I can’t wait to turn 25,” she enthuses a day ahead of her birthday. “You know, I’ve been working here since I was 17, and this industry matures you faster.

To top it all the roles that I played were all way ahead of my time too. I felt more mature than my age and so it’s finally good to actually be 25,” she explains. “Of course, I also feel that the child in me is still there, untouched by the forced growing up that the industry ensures, but very few get to know or see that side of me,” adds the actor.

And while Kangana’s been on a working spree past several months, she’s planning to take a day off on her birthday. “I would party all night, if I had my way, but I will settle for a dinner and a get-together with friends and family at home I guess, thanks to the late night deadlines,” she smiles. Waiting to be surprised by gifts from her loved ones — including rumoured boyfriend – she says she hopes to gift herself a mini-vacation. “I’d love to take a break and visit a place like Turkey or Egypt, basically a place that’s rich in history and has some character of it’s own,” says the Bolly hottie. As for her birthday resolution, she reveals that as a ‘chubby and not-so-pretty-teenager’, she had promised herself, that she would look her best at 25, “I don’t think I have reached there yet, so now my resolution is to look my best at 30,” she laughs.

Proud, she may not be of the way she looked back then, but she does admit that she’s rather proud of her journey here. “At 17, I was this reckless teenager, a newcomer in the industry and I made more than my share of mistakes too. There were days when I would feel that I would rather give it all up than go through another day in the industry, but I am glad that I kept the faith. I’ve learnt through my mistakes and I can say that I’m way much wiser now, may be more than my age again,” she says. “Right now, I feel I’m in a good space, happy with the roles I am doing and glad to be accepted as an actor.”
